website promotion is a long term project

Websites are always long term projects when it comes to SEO. Even with links from several Google PageRank 4 web pages, we are all at the whims of Google's algorithms. As a webmaster you must give it time. One link from a highly ranked page will not put your website at the top of any search. You need to find as many different places as possible to list your website. This is the same for everyone, us included.

If you follow our posts on Facebook and our blogs you will see we are always talking about adding links to our sites from other websites. You must look for links from external blogs, website directories, other websites. It is hard work. It takes many months or even years. But the only way to do it is to put the effort in to get as many links as possible pointing at your website.

When we start an SEO project, we tell people it will be 6 months before they appear anywhere in the Google rankings, 12 months before they get a decent Google listing, and 3 years before they hit their peak... all provided that they work at it regularly that is.

September 2011 horoscope forecasts

In the next few weeks we will be launching our horoscope forecasts for September 2011. To ensure our horoscopes will be read as widely as possible we create the pages on which the horoscopes will be posted many months in advance. In fact we already have some horoscope pages created well in to 2012. The longer the pages are in place the more chance they will be seen.

Why Blog?

Why blog? There are two reasons every website business owner should blog.

Firstly, if the blog is on your own site and hosted on the same website domain a blog is a quick and easy way to add more content to your site. The more content on your website the more chance you have of matching someones Google search. Secondly, if you have an external blog hosted on a different domain from your own website you can use your posts to increase the number of links pointing at your site, with the anchor text keywords and surrounding context you choose. You can write the blog to very accurately match the content of the page you wish to link to and increase the power of the link.
